Meet the Pastor

MEET THE PASTOR

Dr. Fereidoun Es-Haq, son of Reverend Samuel Es-Haq, is the founding pastor of the Bet-Eil Assyrian Church.  He grew up in Iran, and committed his life to the Lord at the age of 17. At the age of 18 sensed God's calling to the work of ministry, and therefore, he proceeded to study Philosophy at Tehran University along with enrolling in the Bible Training Program offered by the Board of Education of the Evangelical Church of Iran. From an early age, He was active in church ministry, taking leadership responsibilities for the Young Adult group, music, and Bible teaching and preaching.

In 1979, Pastor Fereidoun transferred to Azusa Pacific University in the United States to complete his bachelors degrees both in Philosophy and Religion.  He continued his post graduate theological education and received his Master of Arts in Theology and Ethics.  He also holds a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) and a Master of Pastoral Counseling (MPC).  He is a licensed Family and marriage counselor.

Pastor Fereidoun was ordained as the pastor of the Assyrian Evangelical Church of Turlock in 1980 by the Monte Vista Chapel
Church’s leadership.  As a church planter, he has organized and pastored a number churches in the Bay Area, including the
Assyrian Evangelical Church of San Jose and the Bay Area in 1981; Iranian Christian Church of San Jose in 1987; Iranian Christian Church of Walnut Creek in 1993 (organized only); South Bay Iranian Church in 1994; and Bet-Eil Assyrian Church in 1992, which he is currently pastoring.

Pastor Fereidoun enjoys translating books from English to Farsi, providing a source of evangelism and Christian growth to
all Iranians: Assyrians, Armenians, Persians, etc.  Some of his work includes:

• The Disciple, by Juan Carlos Ortiz
• Be Mature, by Warren Weirsbe
• How to Handle Adversity, by Dr. Charles Stanley
Lifegiving God (revision in Farsi)
• The Book of Psalms (revision in Assyrian)
• Gospel of John (revision of the 1904 translation in Farsi)
Noor-va-Omid (a Christian periodical magazine)

After leading Bet-Eil Assyrian Church as the Senior Pastor the 16 years, Pastor Fereidoun stepped down from this position in
2008 to focus his energies on preaching and teaching for the church, leaving the administrative responsibilities to the Board
of Deacons of the church.  He can be seen on the Bet-Eil TV program, and his sermons are available for listening here.
